Blood Care at Home

Blood is one of the major constituent of human body and it helps in supplying the essential nutrients to the entire body and collects the waste products from each cell and tissue of the body and aids in their elimination. Blood plays a major role in transmission of any diseases and thus proper blood care can help handling these problems at a very early stage.

Cardiovascular diseases are caused due to the presence of high cholesterol level in blood that blocks the arteries from supplying the heart with proper blood circulation which ultimately leads to heart blockage and failure. With proper food habits, exercise and diet control, blood cholesterol level can be reduced which will lead to lower health risk.

Hypertension or high blood pressure may lead a healthy person toward heart attack or even brain strock. It may also lead a person towards diabetes. So, in order to keep fit all of us must take proper blood care.

A Medical Career in Radiology Has Wide Range of Employment Opportunities

nurseStudents who are about to start their undergraduate study but are still undecided on the career path to pursue should check the career opportunities in the field of a medical career in radiology. Radiology, which is the use of radioactive substances to penetrate and take images of the inner parts of the human body, is fast expanding as more technological advances result to more advanced imaging techniques.

More and more trained professionals are needed to operate the machines and interpret the results. After learning the basics of radiology, students can then choose their fields of specialization where a wide variety of choices are open. They can specialize in any of the following: Computed Tomography scanning, also known as CAT or CT scanning; Magnetic Resonance Imaging or MRI; Mammography or Cardiovascular radiography and many more fields. Because of the growing need for this kind of diagnosis and medical therapy, the professionals in this field are in demand with relatively higher salaries.

My first encounter with an x ray specialist was when I had a medical examination prior to getting a health insurance. Since it was the first time for me, I was a bit nervous. Before that I also heard some people say that X-rays are only done when really necessary because they come from radioactive materials.

I was expecting to feel something hit my back as I was holding my breath during the x ray procedure. To my surprise it ended so fast and I did not feel anything. Looking back at my first x ray experience, I can say that the x ray technician helped a lot to make the experience easier than I expected. He explained to me the procedure in a very casual manner and assured me that the procedure will be fast. He added that the x rays to be used are at a safe amount or level. True enough it was fast.
